Today we begin a series of posts documenting the hate crimes of the Obama administration against the governing law of our land, the constitution, beginning with its unlawful seizure of private business. Just as a reminder, the sole purpose of the establishment of this government was to protect the private property from such oppression. Not that this matters to liberals, but I'm just saying.
The government committed the crime of monopolizing the auto industry, providing financial backing for warrantees for General Motors products, a move which is intended to increase GM's viability in a competitive market, i.e. keep it from going bankrupt. This gives one company certain treatment not given to other companies, using tax payers dollars to support it's business operation.
This violates the constitution, Article 1, Section 8: "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States".
The last part, which states that all taxes should be uniform, means that congress shall not tax one state in favor of another, and by implication they shall not tax any company in favor of another. This is the principal of a fair market, which is necessary for competition and prosperity.
It follows that if a fair market requires even taxation among competitors, then it also requires even funding of all competitors. If the government wishes to give aid to one company, it must give similar aid to all of that companies competitors, in order to not violate the rights of those competitors granted them in Article 1.
The idea that a federal government would some day interfere with private businesses' competition would have been sufficient reason for our founders to prevent that government from ever being established. King George was doing this very thing, when he was placing taxes on the American companies that were not being levied against British merchants, putting the American companies at a disadvantage. This is what led to the people's rejection of "taxation without representation" and the Boston Tea Parties that ultimately fueled the revolution, and the achievement of our freedom.
Our current government seems to be ignoring its own laws, a refined skill of highly trained liberals.
